GLEN R. MITCHELL

Glen R. Mitchell, 42, of Bethesda, Md., formerly of Grinnell, died the last week in April, 2007.

A funeral service was held May 3, in Arlington, Va.

He was born in Grinnell on Dec. 18, 1965, and was a graduate of Grinnell High School with the class of 1984. He then earned a degree in finance from the University of Iowa. He began to lose full use of his body as a teen-ager from muscular dystrophy. He was involved in running and track events with the Achilles Track Club, a group of physically challenged athletes who meet to work out and socialize. He served 15 years with the federal government, most recently as a computer assistant with the Environmental Protection Agency.

He is survived by his wife Djuna (DJ), his father, one brother John Sadler, one sister Margaret Sadler, and three half sisters. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Miriam Sadler.
