CLETUS "LEE" LEROY MILLER

Cletus "Lee" Leroy Miller, 88, of Montezuma, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was born in Union Township, Poweshiek County on November 24, 1925. He was the son of the late Cecil and LaVina Shook Miller. A graduate of Montezuma High School class of 1944, he served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he piloted troops to the shore in the battle of Iwo Jima, and served in the occupation of Japan after the war. He was a tireless advocate of his Christian faith, and served his Lord as an ordained minister. He retired from the City of San Jose, Calif., in 1991 as a supervisor of police car and city vehicle maintenance services.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Evelyn J. Miller; sons Ronald, Kenneth, and Jeffrey; stepson Arlin Fisher, and stepdaughter Janet Torres; daughters-in-law Laurel Miller and Wendy Miller; grandchildren Shawn Miller, Kacy Walser, Austin Miller and Sierra Miller; great-grandchildren Christian Miller and Desiree Miller. He is also survived by his sister Lois Douglass of Montezuma.

A funeral service was held Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Jackson Church of Christ with a private burial in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
