ETHEL LUCILE KEENER

Ethel Lucile Keener, daughter of Benjamin and Katherine Keener was born Sept. 11, 1910 and died Jan. 1, 1944, at the age of 33 years, 3 months and 20 days.

Ethel was born and raised in the Bethel neighborhood and came with her parents to Lynnville three years ago.

Due to illness in childhood she was never able to do the things other children could do. She has been practically an invalid all her life and the past 18? she had been bedfast. In all her years of illness she was patient and cheerful and lovingly devoted to her parents and she appreciated her many friends and their kind remembrances among which were a number of radio shut-ins.

She leaves to mourn their loss her mother and one sister, two nieces and one nephew, besides a number of friends and relatives. Her father and one brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held from the house Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Orin Hutchins in charge, music, a solo, "In the Garden," by Mrs. Frank Lemon and a duet, Mrs. Lemon and Mrs. Orin Hutchins "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and at the cemetery they sang "We'll Never Say Goodbye in Heaven." The flowers which were beautiful were taken care of by Mrs. Gus Kaisand and Mrs. Carl Savage. Pall bearers were Robert, Alfred and Stanley Ashby, Gerald Heitink, Robert Moore and Stanley Hutchins. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery.

Those attending from a distance included Mrs. Jessie Williams of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Levi Kone, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ashby and Mrs. Virgil Redding, all of Kellogg, and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Starr of Newton.
