FUNERAL SERVICES FOR
MRS. C. SLATER
HELD ON SATURDAY

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. C.D. Loose were held from the James Funeral Home Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Clara A. Slater who passed away Friday after a lingering illness at the age of 79 years, nine months and 25 days.

Mrs. Slater was born on March 19, 1864, in Kellogg, where she attended the public schools and grew to young womanhood. In 1881 she was married to John F. Slater. They were the parents of three children. One son, Glenn A., preceded his mother in death in 1918. She is survived by a son, Loyal B. Slater of Philadelphia and a daughter Mrs. Anona Slater Weib of Omaha.

Mr. and Mrs. Slater, after their marriage, made their home in Grinnell. About 15 years ago they moved to Cleveland where they resided until the death of Mr. Slater in April of 1937. Following his death Mrs. Slater returned to Grinnell and made her home with Mrs. Ziegenmeyer at 1028 Broad where she died.
