ANNA HARNACK MITHELMAN

Anna Caroline Harnack was born in Germany Nov. 29, 1865. She was the daughter of Chris and Anna Harnack. After an extended illness of 1 yr. 7 mo. she passed from this life, at St. Francis Hospital Jan. 10, 1944, at 11:05 p.m., at the age of 78 yrs., 1 mo., 11 days.

Oct. 22, 1888 she married Henry Mithelman in Germany. To this union were born two sons, August W. of Grinnell, and Herman F. of Fort Madison, and one daughter, Rosa S. Hotchkin of Grinnell. Mr. and Mrs. Mithelman came to Chicago from Germany after the two boys were born. They lived there for a few years. Since then they have resided in or near Grinnell.

In her early childhood, Mrs. Mithelman was confirmed in the Lutheran faith but about 18? years ago she joined the First Baptist Church of Grinnell.

Besides her husband and children Mrs. Mithelman is survived by one brother, Chris Harnack living in Chicago, and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held Thurs. afternoon at 2:30 p.m., January 13, 1944, at the James Funeral Home. Mrs. Ed Bohstedt and Mrs. Howard Hyde furnished the music, accompanied by Mrs. Ray Myers. The pall bearers were Will P. Hotchkin, Ike Sharp, Bob Lear, Chas. Kimball, Herman Mithelman, and Fred Mithelman.

Interment was made in the Hazelwood Cemetery.
