MRS. MARY JANE
RAYL PASSES AWAY;
FUNERAL FRIDAY

Mrs. Mary Jane (Reavis) Rayl passed away Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock in a local hospital following an illness of almost three weeks during which period she submitted twice to major surgery.

Born in Searsboro on July 24, 1880, Mrs. Rayl came to Grinnell about 7 years ago, having made her home at 102 Third avenue. Her husband, Alvin Delbert Rayl, passed away in 1941. Immediate survivors include five daughters--Mrs. Elsie Anderson of Battle Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Thelma Gault and Miss Ruth Rayl of Grinnell; Miss Edna Rayl, student at John Fletcher college, Oskaloosa; and Mrs. Opal Frebert of Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church conducted by the Rev. C.D. Loose assisted by Rev. O.W. Glassburn of the Northside Friends church. Burial will be at the Sugar Creek cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home this evening.
