ELMR GILLESPIE,
77, PASSES AWAY IN
PORT ANGELES, WASH.

Word has been received in Grinnell of the death in Port Angeles, Wash., of Elmer Lincoln Gillespie after an illness of many months. He was 77 years old.

Mr. Gillespie was born in Grinnell Sept. 24, 1864. He grew up on a farm and followed this occupation all his life. He was married in Grinnell on August 5, 1884 and this year celebrated his 58th wedding anniversary.

From Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Gillespie moved to Big Sandy, Mon., where they made their home from 1914 to 1928 and then came to Calhoun county, Wash., where Mr. Gillespie farmed for 13 years at Dry Creek. He was a member of Port Angeles Grange. Mr. and Mrs. Gillespie retired and moved to town a year ago.

Surviving are his faithful wife, Mrs. Sophia Gillespie, two sons, Roe E. of San Francisco and Harry I. of Grinnell, three daughters, Mrs. Chetta McDonald, Mrs. Minnie Thomas and Mrs. Floyd McDonald, all of Port Angeles and one brother, O.H. Gillespie, of Neligh, Neb. There are also 14 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
