SYBIL RENAUD
DIES THURSDAY

Mrs. Sybil Renaud, 86, the widow of George C. Renaud, died Thursday evening at the Friendship Manor Nursing Home. She was in failing health for the past 3 years.

The daughter of L.O. and Elvira Meredith Riley, she was born in Oskaloosa March 3, 1886. She attended the Lynnville schools and was graduated from Lynnville High School. Later she taught school for four years.

On January 31, 1907, she was married to George c. Renaud at Lynnville and they farmed near Lynnville until 1920 when they moved from the farm to Lynnville. In 1940, they came to Grinnell to make their home.

Mrs. Renaud held many offices in the First Friends Church of Grinnell. She was superintendent of the junior department of the Sunday school. She was also the church pianist, elder of the church, and Secretary of the Women's Missionary Society. She belonged to the W.C.T.U., the Rock of Ages Club, and the Worth While Club.

Mrs. Renaud is survived by her half sister, Mrs. Dan C. (Elizabeth) Hoffman of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews, R.R. Riley Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., William Riley and Mrs. Esther Green, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Marjorie Andresen of Baja California, Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her husband George on April 30, 1950, and her brother R.R. Riley in 1943.

Funeral services for Mrs. Renaud will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (July 18) at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Willard Reynolds and the Rev. Doran Morford, officiating.

Music will be provided by Mrs. Howard Macy, organist, and Mrs. Andrew Dunnick and Mrs. Harvey Mikel Jr., vocalists. Flowerbearers will be Mrs. Arthur McDowell and Mrs. Elizabeth Davidson.

Pallbearers will be George German, Clyde Lisk, Arthur McDowell, Ervin Meredith, Arnold Ratcliff, and Warner Renaud.

Burial will be made in the Friends cemetery at Lynnville. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Grinnell First Friends Church Building Fund.
