DWAYNE A. REED

Dwayne A. Reed, 60 of Mitchellville, died June 16 at Iowa Methodist, Des Moines.

He was born May 15, 1929, at Barnes City, the son of Arthur E. and Grace J. Kuntz Reed. He was graduated from Deep River High School in 1947.

On Dec. 29, 1959, he was united in marriage with Joy Ewing in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. They lived in various communities including Deep River and Brooklyn. For the past 19 years they have lived in Mitchellville. Dwayne worked for the Farmers Home Administration. He was a Mason and member of the Corinthian Lodge No. 174 A.F. & A.m. at Brooklyn.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Dwayne in 1952; his father, Arthur Reed in 1977 and his father-in-law, Carl L. Ewing in1977.

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Joy of Mitchellville; two daughters, Deborah Heishman of Mitchellville and Rhonda and her husband Dennis Hochmuth of Mitchellville; one son and his wife, Randy and Tina Reed of Mitchellville; five grandchildren, Monica Heishman, Michael and Melissa Hochmuth and Shannon and Sherri Reed; his mother, Grace Reed of Montezuma and his mother-in-law, Winifred Ewing of Malcom.

Services were June 19 at Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma, with Rev. George Salnave and Rev. Glenn Hulsebus officiating. Masonic Service was by members of Corinthian Lodge No. 174 A.F. & A.M., Brooklyn.

Casket Bearers were Jack Hall, Denver Miles, Gene Morgan, Vere Osborne, Lloyd Olson, and Bob Willett. Interment was in Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma. Memorial: American Cancer Fund or Mitchellville Rescue Unit.
