EWART RITES HELD TODAY

Dauphin Wendell Ewart, 67, of Fairfield died Monday at 8:45 p.m. at his home.

Funeral services for D.W. Ewart were scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the First United Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Carl Riggs officiating. Entombment was to be in Pleasant Township Cemetery at 2 p.m.

Born Aug. 12, 1912, he was the son of James S. and Henrietta Aldis Ewart of Ewart. He was raised and educated in Ewart and Grinnell and attended Grinnell College.

On Feb. 11, 1940, he married Ruth E. Empping in Grinnell. The couple moved to Fairfield in 1941, and he was manager for a livestock equipment company for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Surviving him are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Kooksy of Virginia Beach, Va.; one son, Ned Ewart of Austin, Tex.; a sister, Betty Stidham of Alexandria, Va.; and four grandchildren.
