ARTHUR FOSTER DIES IN ILLINOIS

Arthur L. Foster, 64, a native of the Sera4sboro area, died Dec. 20 at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Ill.

Funeral Services were conducted Dec. 23 at Rockford with burial at the Scandinavian Cemetery there.

The son of Eugene and Grace Foster, he was born Dec. 23, 1916, in Sugar Creek Township. He was married to Mae Reynolds on Oct. 5, 1947, in Montezuma. Mr. Foster lived in Rockford for 32 years after moving there from Centerville. He was president of L.F.A.C. Insurance with the Broadmoore Agency from 1965 to 1979.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Lions Club and past president of a Rockford business and professional men's association. He was a past president of the Centennial United Methodist Church administration board, treasurer of a building committee, and lay member of the annual conference of Methodist churches for many years. He also served as a Sunday School teacher for several years.

Mr. Foster was a graduate of the University of Illinois and a member of the board of trustees of the university's Wesley Foundation for many years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Martha Mae Mitchell of Crystal Lake, Ill.; a son, Mark Alan Foster of Galesburg, Ill.; two brothers, Thomas L. Foster of Ashton, Ill., and Carrol C. Foster of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister, Lauramay Miller of Montezuma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
