OBITUARY

Charlet Ellen McAninch [see note] was born in the state of Indiana, Dec. 17, 1865 and died Sept. 11, 1943, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 24 days.

She was united in marriage to Louis G. Helm, May 3, 1884, and to this union were born two children, Edward C. Helm of Brooklyn, and Mrs. Gussie L. Hamor of Grinnell.

Her entire married life was spent in Malcom and she was active in all the movements that tended toward the improvement of the town.

Due to ill health, she was compelled, during the last few years, to give up housekeeping and spent most of her time with her daughter, Mrs. J.A. Hamor.

She leaves to mourn her loss her son and daughter, six grandchildren and one great grandchild, also three brothers, Oliver Simmerson of Dunkerton, McGinley McAninch of Brooklyn and Charles McAninch of Victor, besides a host of relatives and friends.

In the passing of Mrs. Helm, Malcom has lost another of her early pioneers.

The funeral was held from the old home place in Malcom, with the Rev. E.P. Spurlock officiating. The pall bearers were Amos Faulkinburg, Henry Wichman, Arthur Magnusson, Hollis Larson, Lester Schneekloth and Grover Eisele.

Burial was in the Malcom cemetery beside her husband.
