LEO M. WIDE SERVICES HELD

Leo M. Wide, 78, of Deep River, died Thursday, June 2, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday at the Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with the Rev. Dennis Dorsheimer of the Jackson Church of Christ, Montezuma, officiating. Burial was in Golden Rod Cemetery, Deep River.

The son of Mich and Sophie Sufka, he was born July 13, 1909, in Rice, Minn. He worked on a turkey farm in Oskaloosa, then made his home in Keota where he worked for a dairy farm. He later farmed several other farms. He and his wife, Betty moved to Deep River in 1961 where he served as city marshal.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; one son from a previous marriage, Robert of Keota; three grandchildren; one brother, Alfred Sufka of Little Falls, Minn.; and four sisters, Anna M. Cross of Little Falls, Frances Kowalczyk of Pierce, Minn., Catherine Young, also of Pierce, and Emma Burrows of Cross Lake, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Frank, August and Edward.
