JOAN C. HEATH

Mrs. Joan C. Heath, 58,of Dubuque, Iowa, died Sunday, July 26, 1987, at Methodist hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services were to be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Dubuque. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn, at a later date. The Gene Siegert & Son Westview Funeral Home in Dubuque was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Heath was born May 11, 1929, in Evanston, Ill., the daughter of the late Clinton and Rose Hansen Ryan. She graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1947 and attended the University of Northern Iowa. She was a graduate of the University of Dubuque and was a former teacher in the Brooklyn School system.

She married Lenard D. Heath at St. Patrick's Church, Brooklyn, Sept. 25, 1954. In 1961, they moved to Dubuque where she was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, having served as a lector and was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a former leader of the Girl Scouts of America and for many years was a member of the Mercy Health Care Center Adult Volunteers.

A memorial fund has been established.

Surviving are her husband Lenard D. Heath of Dubuque; two daughters, Mary K. Heath of Davenport and Anne E. Heath of Chicago; two sons, James M. Heath of Keosauqua and Thomas E. Heath of Iowa City; one grandson; three brothers, Thomas G. Ryan of Cedar Falls, Rev. Phillip V. Ryan of Knoxville and James R. Ryan of Brooklyn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a son, John G. Heath, on August 27, 1980.
