DIES AT HAMPTON

A former Grinnell high school coach, Kenneth C. Starbuck, 59, died early Wednesday morning at his home in Hampton following a long illness.

Starbuck, who had been a coach and manual arts instructor for 37 years, was track coach at Grinnell for about 14 years. He left here about 1942.

While at Grinnell, his track teams gained considerable renowns. Many of the track records of the local school were established during his coaching tenure.

He had also coached at Keokuk, Hampton and Chapin.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Al Cornish of Sigourney; two sisters and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. from the Methodist church in Hampton. Interment will be in the Cedar Falls cemetery.
