DENNIS D. ROZENBERG, 55

Dennis Dean Rozenberg, of Montezuma, died April 7, 1998, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center at the age of 55.

The Rev. Dennis Dorsheimer of Jackson Church of Christ of Montezuma officiated at the funeral. The services were at Smith Funeral Home April 13 in Grinnell.

Taped music was "Go Rest High Up On The Mountain" by Vince Gill, "The Living Years" by Michael and The Mechanics, "Me" by Paul Cole and "I Will Leave This World Loving You" by Ricky Van Shelton.

Pall bearers were Junior Beck, Jerry Grosenbach, Jr., Steve Minnert, Dave Phipps, Fred Riddle, Jim Swanson and Larry Swanson.

Honorary bearers were Arnold Arp, Buddy Beck and Marvin Williams.

Veterans ceremonial rites were performed by members of the Blakley-Stevens American Legion Post #169 of Montezuma.

Bret Crowl played "Taps."

Interment was in Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.

The son of Harold and Inez Parkhurst Rozenberg, Dennis was born June 3, 1942 in Grinnell. He was raised in Grinnell, later in Gladbrook and was a 1960 graduate of Garwin High School.

He was a US Navy veteran.

He was married to Dixie Dobson in Grinnell for several years and then married Carol M. Waite December 3, 1967 in Lancaster, Mo. They renewed their vows June 22, 1982 in Grinnell.

The couple lived in Tama, Malcom and Grinnell prior to moving to Montezuma in 1991. Dennis began his career with the Donaldson Company in Grinnell January 10, 1972 as a welder and later, as a tube bender operator.

He was a member and past commander of Blakely-Stevens American Legion Post #169, UAW Local #1201, The 40 & 8 and the Montezuma Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, target-shooting and socializing with family and friends. His hobby was cars, particularly Ford Mustangs and he enjoyed racing and working on engines.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Montezuma; his mother, Inez Eriksen of Grinnell; his children, Denny Lee Rozenburg of Bearden, Ark., Sheila Swanson of Grinnell, Edward Pattison of West Valley City, Utah, Julie Munez of Tucson and Troy Pattison of Eagan, Minn.; and 10 grandchildren.
