EMMA KATHRINA ANNA LUTTMAN

Emma was born on February 20, 1910, near Grinnell, Iowa to Henry and Augusta Fredericks Graff. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school in Tama County.

On December 27, 1934, she was married to Lester C. Luttman at the Trinity Lutheran parsonage. The couple lived in Chester Township and operated a grain and livestock farm.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Grinnell. Her hobbies included raising flowers, baking, needlework, playing cards and fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Emma is survived by two daughters, Lola Simmons of rural Malcom and Doris (Paul) Jones of rural Brooklyn; one son-in-law, Terry Schmidt of Winterset; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Merlyn Luttman of Grinnell, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester C. Luttman; her parents; one daughter, Marilyn Schmidt; one son-in-law, Claire Simmons; one grandson, Tony Simmons; five sisters and four brothers.
