DONALD LEE PRICE

Donald L,. Price, age 81 of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Marengo, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 3, 2016, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Matt German officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Bishop Cemetery, rural Marengo. Visitation 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to the Marengo Library or Marengo Senior Dining.

Donald is survived by his wife Nita of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Marengo; a daughter Tracy Potter (Mark) of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Donald Price Jr. (Ida) of Cedar Rapids, and Daniel Price (Janel) of Marion; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers Jerry Price (Darlene) of Oklahoma, and Larry Price (Myrna) of Oelwein; three sisters, Jane Farris of Cedar Rapids, Mildred Chase of Wichita, KS, and Marge Topping of Colorado; and three sisters-in-law, Betty Price of Brooklyn, Marion Price of Grinnell, and Joan Price of Beeville, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard, Henry and Robert and a sister Margaret Ann.

Donald Lee Price was born October 21, 1934 in Nebraska, the son of Rolland and Naomi (Norris) Price. He completed his education in the Brooklyn schools and served in the United States Air Force and Navy for four years each. He and Nita Hartmann were married September 18, 1964 in Marengo. Donald was employed as a truck driver for many years. He loved listening to music, camping, and fishing and snacking on anything and everything. He like to tinker and fix things. But most of all he loved being with his family and spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marengo.
