FERN FINDLEY SERVICES HELD

Fern C. Findley, 89, of Grimes, formerly of Grinnell, died Wednesday, July 21.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 24, at First Presbyterian Church of Grimes, with burial at Sunny Hill Cemetery there.

The daughter of Ulcestes and Rosannah Rittgers Findley, she was born July 30, 1892, at her parents' farm home in Dallas County. She attended Maple Ridge country school, Grimes High School and Grinnell College.

She cared for her parents until their deaths, then moved to Grinnell and lived with Pearl Hays, a friend she met while attending college here. She was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church while living here and was active in the United Methodist Women's organization. She was also an active member of the D.A.R. and the First Presbyterian Church of Grimes after returning there in 1975.

There are no immediate survivors. Miss Findley was preceded in death by her parents; a sister in infancy; and four brothers, George, Charley, Ray and Wendell.
