STEVE SADLER

Steven Carl Sadler, 59, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at his home in Bondurant from cancer.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 21, at Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial following at Franklin Township Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday evening at the funeral home.

He was born Aug. 26, 1952, to Russell and Violet Sadler in Grinnell.

Steve graduated from Grinnell High School and then served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Gustafson for 15 years and most recently was the plant manager for Chemorse. Steve was a member of Cross Point United Methodist Church in Bondurant and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also coached many different sports through the years.

Steven is suvived by his wife of 27 years, Mary Sadler; children, Brett Sadler, Alison Myrtue, and Jessalyn Sadler; father, Russ Sadler; mother, Vi Van Wyk; brothers, Doug, Greg, and Scott Sadler; sister, Deb Sadler; and a host of other family and friends.
