RITES TUESDAY

Edward Weiser Klopp, 72, of 1627 Tenth Ave., Grinnell, died Wednesday evening at St. Francis Manor. He had been in failing health for the past few months.

Funeral services for Mr. Klopp will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. James P. Russell, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. The Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The son of Leslie and Effie Wisser Klopp, he was born July 17, 1905, at Bedford. He attended Bedford schools and was graduated from Bedford High School in 1925. In 1932, he was graduated from the Des Moines School of Pharmacy.

On June 23, 1929, he was married to Hazel Smith in Fairfield. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Klopp lived in Des Moines; Marshalltown; Iowa City; Monmouth, Ill.; Villisca; Oakland and Grinnell. They moved to Correctionville in 1944 where they owned and operated the Klopp Rexall Drugstore for 18 years.

Mr. Klopp was employed at the former Mathews Rexall Drug Store. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, on April 6, 1874. Survivors include a brother, Alvin L. Klopp of Corning, and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Horttor of Blue Mound, Kan., and Mrs. Wilbur (Lois) Ernsting of Irving, Tex.
