AURELIA M. GROTH

Aurelia M. Groth, 88, of the Mayflower died Saturday, July 23, at the Mayflower Home Health Care Center.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic church, with the Rev. Anthony G. Farrell officiating. Graveside services are set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials in Mrs. Groth's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.

She was the daughter of Eugene and Alphonsine Cardinal Dandurand, and was born Sept. 16, 1905, in Purcell, Okla.

She was married to LeRoy Groth Dec. 15, 1926, in Sioux City. They lived in Cushing and Correctionville before moving to Sioux City in 1943. While living in Sioux City Mrs. Groth worked for Swift and Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1970. She moved to LeMars in 1988 and had been a resident of the Mayflower since earlier this year. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City.

Surviving are two sons, Virgil of Grinnell and Gene of Sioux City; two daughters, Pauline Bonderson of LeMars and Geraldine DeFabis of Indianapolis, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph and Ernest Dandurand, both of Sioux City; and four sisters, Dorene Kortum of Sioux City, Alma Hellinger and Pauline Groberski of Minnesota, and Ernestine Prichard of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Ida Eickholt, Irene Conley, Lorene O'Hara and Leona Marcoe; and five brothers, Emil, Orville, Clarence, Bernard and Leon Dandurand.
