JAMES BALDREY
James H. Baldrey, 76, 1107 Fourth Ave., formerly of Troy, N.Y., died Monday, June 5, at Grinnell General Hospital of a heart condition. Mr. Baldrey had made his home in Grinnell since last summer to be near his family.
Services will be Friday, June 9, at 1:30 p.m. at First United Presbyterian Church, Troy, with burial in Memory Garden Cemetery, Colony, N.Y. Memorials in his name may be left at Smith Funeral Home.
He was the son of George and Jennie Clarke Baldrey and was born July 21, 1912, in Troy. He was a graduate of Troy High School in 1930 and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy. He was a metallurgist for Union Carbide Corp. for 20 years, retiring in 1972.
On Jan. 11, 1941, he was married to Irma F. Millhouse in Troy, and in addition to Troy, they made their home in Summit, N.J. Chicago, Ill., and Youngstown, N.Y. where they resided for 18 years and were members of the First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by four daughters Susan Pearson, Cedar Rapids; Barbara Reschly, Grinnell; Margaret Woehrle, Saline, Mich., and Janet Donkervoort, London, Ontario, Canada; 11 grandchildren and one sister Mary Cochrane, Stony Point, N.Y.
