LOUIS KRIEGEL SERVICES HELD

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday for Louis Kriegel, 44, of Rte. 1, Malcom, who died Wednesday morning, Aug. 5, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Celebrant was the Rev. Fr. Karl Holtkamp of St. Patrick's. Pall bearers were Paul Kriegel, Laverne Kriegel, John Kriegel, Eugene Kriegel, Gary Kriegel and Daryl Kriegel. The Rosary Service was conducted at 8:15 p.m. Friday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery.

The son of John Patrick and Mary Catherine Roth Kriegel, he was born Sept. 23, 1836, in Tama County. He attended Brooklyn Schools, graduating in 1954. He served with the U.S. Army from July 1958 to July 1960.

On Nov. 30, 1963, he was married to Marivea (Dixie) Church. He was manager of the Malcom Farmers Co-op Lumber Yard until his resignation June 30 due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie; his children, Tammy, Kenneth, Brenda, Scott and Stacy; eight brothers, Bill, Melvin, Gerald, Lawrence, Joe and Kenneth Kriegel, all of Brooklyn, Jim Kriegel of Malcom and Richard Kriegel of Marengo; and four sisters, Stella Henle of Tama, Marjorie Henle of Brooklyn, Gladys Healy of Chelsea and Mary Jane Rich of Nashville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
