Floyd J. Kriegel, 83, Olympia, Wash., died of natural causes Thursday, March 23, 1989, in the Evergreen Convalescent Center, Olympia. He had been a resident of Olympia the past 34 years and had also lived in Brooklyn, Iowa, and Tacoma, Wash.
The son of Balzer and Mary Kriegel, he was born March 2, 1900, in Brooklyn, Ia. He attended schools in Poweshiek county. He married Edith Young, October 19 1935, in Des Moines, Ia.
He was employed by Prudential Insurance of America from which he retired in 1971. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Olympia, and was associated with Thurston County Food Bank from its inception, being a member on the board at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife at the family home, a sister, Marie Schulte, Brooklyn, Ia., and a brother, Balzer of Harlan.
He was preceded by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Memorial services were scheduled for the First United Methodist Church, Olympia, Tuesday, March 28, at 1 p.m. with inurnment at the Olympia Memorial Cemetery at Tumwater, Wash. Arrangements were by Olympia Funeral Home, Olympia, Wash.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Memorial Fund, Olympia.
