E. LLOYD BREEDEN

E. Lloyd Breeden, 90, of Hopkins, Minn., a native of Newburg, died Monday, June 8, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Wallace, pastor of the Newburg Congregational Church, officiating. Organist was Alice Renaud and casket bearers were Harold Breeden, Gerald Edwards, Charles Louden, Steve Walker, Charles Wilmarth and Lee Wilmarth. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

He was the son of John Asher and Eva Whitcomb Breeden and was born May 30, 1908, near Newburg. He was a 1926 graduate of Newburg High School and attended Des Moines University of Commerce.

He was married to Leona Beason Dec. 31, 1932, in Omaha, Neb. They lived in Grinnell until 1941, at Ida Grove for four years, at Atlantic for 14 years, at Manchester for five years and in the Detroit, Mich. area for several years.

Mr. Breeden worked at the former Poweshiek County National Bank. He was also a manager for the Federal Land Bank and was marketing manager for the Memorial Garden Association in the Detroit area. Following retirement, he lived in Scottsdale, Ariz.; Sun City, Calif.; and, for the past five years, Hopkins, Minn.

He is survived by his son, John M. Breeden. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one sister, Inez Millgate; and two brothers, Carl and Forrest.
