D. WAYNE KINNAIRD, 76

D. Wayne Kinnaird was born August 4, 1938, in Grinnell, the son of Donald and Hattie Benskin Kinnaird. He died in his home on August 5th following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Per Wayne's wishes there will be no services held.

Wayne served in the United States Navy. On April 30, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mertie Jean Shaw at First Baptist Church in Grinnell. Wayne retired in 1999 after managing grain elevators in Brooklyn, Bancroft, Lake Park, Pickering and Dubuque. Wayne enjoyed NASCAR racing, bluegrass music, ham radio, working in the yard and keeping up on world events.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Mertie Jean Kinnaird of East Dubuque, Ill. He is also survived by his two sons, Curtis Wayne (Jill) of Tiffin, and Timothy John of East Dubuque, Ill.; two granddaughters, Lexi and Abbi Kinnaird of Tiffin; four brothers, Wendell (Jean) Kinnaird, Earl (Pam) Kinnaird both of Grinnell, Bill (Shirley) Kinnaird of Grimes, and Jerry (Pat) Kinnaird of Salina, Kan.; one sister, Judy (Roger) McCulley of Grinnell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by two sisters, Donna (Keith) Grovenburg and Joan (Roger) Moyer.
