MRS. CLAUDIA BEASON RITES HELD NOV. 5

Funeral services for Mrs. Claudia Beason were conduced by Mr. Paul Septer at the Steffy Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon, November 5. The organist was Miss Alice Underwood.

Casket bearers were Gary Carter, Allen Sylvia, Albert Garcia, Don Newton, Leroy Bryan and Lloyd Hulbert. Interment was at Jackson Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Beason, 86, passed away in Montezuma on Saturday, November l.

The daughter of Percival and Carrie Johnson, she was born at Keosauqua, Iowa, on Sept. 11, 1883. In her youth the family moved to Ottumwa where she attended school. The family then moved to Montezuma and in 1904 she married Clyde Beason. To this union four daughters were born.

She was baptized in the First Christian Church in Ottumwa and later transferred her membership to the local church.

Since Mr. Beason's death in 1954, she has lived with her daughters.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Vera Carter, Mrs. Marjorie Klinger and Mrs. Maybel Carmac; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Verna VanDeventer.
