ARNOLD KUETHER

Arnold W. Kuether, 85, of Grinnell, formerly of Washington, Iowa, died Monday, July 30, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conduced Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Brandt, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 9, 1915, in Wabeno, Wis., to the Rev. William and Caroline Hendel Kuether. He was raised in Louis Corners, Wis., and attended primary school there. He graduated from high school in Kewaunee, Wis., and received a degree in electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

During World War II, he served as an electrical engineer for the Cutler-Hammer Corporation in Milwaukee and Denver, Colo. He retired from the Eaton Corporation in Denver in 1983. He had been a resident of Grinnell since the fall of 2000.

Mr. Kuether was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Grace Davis of Grinnell and Lois Fager of Peoria, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nola Kuehl; and two brothers, Bill and Harold.
