VERNAL GREGORY

Vernal J. Gregory, 84, of Box 44, Kellogg, died Sunday April 2 at Colonial Manors in Baxter of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held April 5 at the Wallace-Pence funeral Home in Newton with Rev. John Claussen, associate pastor of the Park Avenue Christ Church in Des Moines, officiating. Burial was in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

The son of Jake and Lina Walls Gregory,, he was born April 20, 1904, in Wayne county, Ky. He was married to Daisy Wilson Nov. 12, 1929 in Newton. He was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church and the AFL, Local 74, at the Midwest Manufacturing Co. where he was a carpenter until he retired in 1969.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy; three sons, Paul of Altoona, Dean of San Ramon, Calif., and Ernie of Cottage Grove, Minn.; a daughter, Leona Kechel of Kokomo, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
