SERVICES HELD

Lila Gregory, 81, of Kellogg, died Saturday, Sept. 1, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The daughter of Alvin and Martha Jane Slagel Cooper, she was born Feb. 22, 1892, in Kentucky. On Feb. 10, 1910, she was married George Thomas Gregory in Wayne County, Ky. She moved to Kellogg in 1917.

Mrs. Gregory was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church and the Ladies Society of the church.

Survivors include a son, William Gregory of Mt. Vernon; five daughters, Mrs. Evalee Hausperger of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Rose Holmes of Kellogg, Mrs. Myrtle Conn of Newton, Mrs. Trudy Wood of Newton, and Mrs. Kay Pille of Davenport; six brothers, Shelby and Dick Cooper of Grinnell, Everett Cooper of Newburg, Delmar Cooper of Newton, and Harme and Alvin Cooper Jr. of Kellogg; and five sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Lamb of Newton, Mrs. Grace Shoemaker of Grinnell, Mrs. Opal Smith of Newburg, and Mrs. Rosalie Levelle and Mrs. Juanita Carlock, both of Palm Springs, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960, a son in 1944, and a daughter in 1912, and her parents.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gregory were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kellogg Christian Church with the Rev. Charles Fry officiating. The Johnson Funeral Chapel of Newton was in charge of arrangements with burial in Our Silent City Cemetery, Kellogg.
