RITES TODAYHarry M. Harris, 92, a former resident of Grinnell, died Thursday at Ridgecrest Retirement Village in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Wendt Brothers Funeral Home in Moline, Ill., with graveside services scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Hazelwood Cemetery here. The Rev. Philip Ramstad, pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, will officiate.
He was born June 15, 1884, in Montezuma. He attended Grinnell College, graduating in 1907.
Mr. Harris was married to Adelaide Levis in Grinnell in 1908. She preceded him in death in 1950. He married Calista Roy in Clairmont, Calif., in 1951; she died in 1966.
Mr. Harris was employed by the Poweshiek County National Bank from 1906 to 1920. He also worked for a Des Moines bank, as well as for various federal agencies, retiring in 1947.
Survivors include two sons, H. Mayo Harris and John H. Harris, both of Moline; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Wilfred McNeil oif New York City, N.Y. He was preceded in death by two sons, Lathrop and Edward.
Memorials in Mr. Harris' name may be made to either the Ridgecrest Retirement Village or the First Congregational Church of Moline.
