EDNA MILLER FLETCHER
DIES IN WEST VIRGINIA
Brooklyn relatives and friends have been notified of the death of Mrs. Edna Miller Fletcher, 63, a native of Brooklyn. The widow of Howell H. Fletcher, she died Sunday, *April 16 at her home in Charleston, W. Va.
Mrs. Fletcher was born in Madison township. She attended Brooklyn schools graduating from the Brooklyn high school. She was also a graduate of William Penn college, Oskaloosa.
Her teaching career started at Cabin Creek, W. Va. She taught at the American Friends Girls High School at Togo, Japan, for four years and returned to teach in Kanawha county, W. Va. From 1956 to 1962 she was on the staff of Valley Day school, after which she taught at Chamberlain school in Kanawha City until 1966.
She was a member and elder of Kanawha Presbyterian church and participated in Girl Scout and YWCA activities.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Max Curtis of Bloomington, Minn.; Miss Frances Fletcher of East Lansing, Mich.; son, Robert M. of Charleston; and a brother, Harry Miller of Montezuma.
The body was cremated with memorial service being conducted April 26 at the Kanawha Presbyterian church.
Mrs. Fletcher was a niece of Grace Miller and Jay A. Miller, Brooklyn and Ira M. Miller of Hampton.
