LINDA LAVENT

Linda Lavent, 64, of Montezuma died Aug. 21, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. As her wish, her body has been cremated and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Poweshiek County Food Pantry.

Linda Faye Lavent, the daughter of Walter and Merle (Stimson) Audas, was born on June 22, 1948 in Montezuma. She was a 1966 graduate of Montezuma High School.

Linda was united in marriage to Douglas Lavent in 1966 and the couple farmed in the Montezuma and Malcom area for many years while Linda also worked at Brownells Inc. Linda enjoyed working with her flowers, spending time with her family and vacationing. Her life would seem to short for many but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Lavent of Montezuam; two children, Wendy (Marcellus) Amatangelo of West Des Moines and Kenneth Lavent of Montezuma; one granddaughter, Tori Streich of Waterloo; one sister, Sherry Meppelink of Phoenix, Ariz.; many nieces; nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and ne brother, Terry Audas.
