Leith Grandstaff Johnson, 60, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, in Jacksonville.
She was interred in Edgewood Cemetery in Jacksonville. Memorials may be directed to the Grinnell Volunteer Fire Department.
She was born Oct. 31, 1947, to Fred and Betty Grandstaff in Benton County, Iowa. The family moved to rural Grinnell when she was a toddler and she attended Grinnell Public Schools. She has been a resident of Jacksonville for many years where she raised her family, operated a construction business with her husband and provided a refuge for rescued horses and dogs.
She is survived by her son and daughters, Rob Wilcke, of Jacksonville, Angela Moore of St. Louis, Mo., and Shawna Johnson of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents and her brother Jerry.
