OBITUARY.

Grace M. Shahan, daughter of John W. and Sarah Elizabeth Shahan, was born on a farm near Albia October 24, 1885, and passed away at her home in Montezuma Sunday morning, November 7, 1948, at the age of 63 years and 14 days.

Her girlhood was spent on the farm with her parents. When a young lady, the family moved to Albia.

On August 31, 1904, she was united in marriage to Guy Clarence Trimble.

In January, 1906, she and her husband came to Montezuma where they have since resided.

As a child, she was a member of a rural Christian Church, where she was a loyal member and faithful worker.

When she came to Montezuma, both she and the Doctor joined the Methodist Church, where they still hold membership and where she was very active as long as her health permitted.

She has been a faithful helpmate not only in the home, but also in the Doctor's office.

Although her illness was unknown for many years, she tired easily, but was always pleasant and patient.

The loving hands and hearts of her family and friends have tenderly cared for her during her last illness, in which time she never complained, still thinking of the welfare of everyone. Her faith and trust in God were her strength and comfort in her hour of need.

She was the youngest of a large family, only four of whom survive, they being Mrs. George Berkman, Mrs. Lon Bellman and George Shahan, all of Albia and John Shahan of Chicago, Ill.

Being of a kind and helpful nature, she made many friends throughout the community, who mourn her departure with her loving and faithful husband, Dr. G.C. Trimble and two children, Dr. Mildred Trimble Badger and Dr. Roy G. Trimble; her son-in-law, R.J.H. Badger, and three grandchildren, Juanita, Roberta and Johnny Badger, all of this city and her many nieces and cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law.
