MIRIAM WILLETT DIES

Miriam Elizabeth Willett was born in Deep River, Iowa on July 19, 1917, the daughter of Edward Charles and Muriel Light Schultz. She died at her home in Brooklyn on January 14, 1969 of a heart attack. Her childhood was spent in Deep River where she received her education in the public school.

On December 24, 1933, she was united in marriage to Charles Ogden Willett. The couple lived on a farm near Brooklyn for two years, after which they moved to town where they resided for the remainder of their marriage.

To this union were born five children: Mrs. Raymond (Barbara) Verdeck of Hartwick, Edward Willett, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Russell (Mary) Rhinehart, Victor, Allan Willett, of West Liberty and Rita at home, all of whom survive. She is also survived by three brothers: Norman Schultz, Des Moines, Dean Schultz, Downey, California and George Schultz, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and ten grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and one grandchild.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn with the Rev. E. Edward Philgreen officiating.

Organist was Mrs. E. Bartachek.

Casketbearers were Lyle Nesselroad, Leonard Roth, William Montgomery, Byard Braley, Raphael Gallagher and Oswald DeCorte. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Brooklyn, Iowa.

Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ramsey, Mrs. Dora Gritsch and Mrs. Jean Hall.

Friends and relatives attended services from Downey, California, Minneapolis, Minn., Des Moines, Hancock and Cedar Rapids.
