SERVICES HELD
FOR CATHERINE DRAKE

Funeral services for Catherine May Drake, 87, were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Bramer Funeral Home with Rev. E. Edward Philgreen, pastor of Grace Methodist church officiating. Organist was Linda Krumm.

Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Brooklyn. Casket bearers were Cliff Williamson, Wallace Edelen, John Edelen, Don Coburn, Nelson Korns and Lynn Montgomery.

Miss Drake died Sunday, Aug. 27, 1967, at St. Francis hospital, Grinnell, where she had been a patient for two weeks.

The daughter of Charles A. and Eliza Cunning Drake, she was born September 22, 1879 in Madison township. Her education included the Brooklyn schools and the Hiland Park Normal College in Des Moines where she graduated in 1906. She taught at the Odd Fellows homes in both Mason City and Council Bluffs.

She was a member of Grace Methodist church, Brooklyn, since 1901 and both the Woman's Society of Christian Service and the Philathea Class of the church. She also was a fifty-year member of the Rebekah lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Being the last of ten children and because of failing health, for the past three years she chose to make her home at the Poweshiek county home in Montezuma.

Surviving is one sister-in-law, Mrs. Eva Drake of Brooklyn, three nephews and five nieces and their families.
