ROSE HORNBECK'S
FUNERAL SATURDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. C.D. Hornbeck were held at 2 p.m. Apr. 6 at the Deep River Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. James Glass. Hazel Dale played the musical selections.

Interment was in Golden Rod cemetery under direction of the Steffy Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Roy Oldaker, P.J. Icenbice, Raymond Johnson, Wendel McClain, Claudis Axtel and Robert McWilliams.

Rose Katherine, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Mollert, was born in St. Peter, Minn., Nov. 23, 1884, and died at St. Francis hospital, Grinnell, Apr. 4, at 78 years of age.

She attended school in St. Peter, and graduated from high school. She worked as a practical nurse, then attended nursing school in North Dakota. She practiced nursing in North Dakota, where she met C.D. Hornbeck. They were married Aug. 24, 1915, at Jamestown, N.D. They moved to Deep River, in 1917, where Dr. Hornbeck has practiced veterinary medicine.

In her youth, she was a member of the Lutheran church, but after coming to Deep River, she united with the Presbyterian church, where she has been an active and faithful member.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Shirley Evans, Des Moines, and Arlene Rauch, Millersburg; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Heilman, Duluth, Minn., and Marie Mollert, San Francisco, Calif., a brother, Adolph Mollert, St. Peter, Minn., other relatives and many friends.
