MR. SPENCER DIES AT 58

Raymond L. Spencer, 58, a former resident of Grinnell, died Nov. 26 of a heart attack at his home in Seattle, Wash.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his son, Raymond Jr.; a grandchild; a stepdaughter; and one brother, Jack Spencer of Seattle. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Homer Revell, and two sisters, Violet Pugh and Nancy Kuhnley.

The son of Dr. John Joseph and Minta Jones Spencer, he was born March 3, 1921, at Montpelier, N.D. Following the death of his father, he and his mother came to Grinnell. He was graduated from Grinnell High School in 1940, at which time he moved to Seattle.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, having served n Europe for the duration of the war.
