RITES HELD FOR
ELSIE MANNING

Mrs. John (Elsie) Manning, 78, of Charles City died Wednesday evening June 21, at the 11th St. Chautauqua Guest Home there where she had been a patient the past month.

The daughter of William and Ernestina Howe Bachmann, she was born March 12, 1894, in Floyd County. She was married to John Manning Oct. 30, 1912.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Donald Manning of Charles City and Melvin Manning of Nora Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Velma) Heinselman of Grinnell and Mrs. Dale (Dorothy) Cummings of Charles City; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother Alfred Bachmann of Alma and two sisters, Mrs. Erma Manning and Mrs. Emma Hasbrouch, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mrs. Manning was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rachael Circle, and the Deerfield Community Club.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 24, at St John's Lutheran Church in Charles City, with the Rev. Palmer Wald? officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
