NORMA LUECHT, 72

Norma Luecht, 72, of Malcom, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at St. Francis Manor, Grinnell.

A graveside service was Thursday, Sept. 5, at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom with the Rev. E.W."Duffy" Meads officiating. Smith Funeral Home, Grinnell, handled arrangements. Memorials may be made to Grinnell Regional Hospice.

Mrs. Luecht was born June 4, 1930, in Stone Lake, Wis., to Gerrit and Bertha (Hesseling) Korthof. She was raised in Spooner, Wis., and graduated from Spooner High School. She worked in banks in Minneapolis, Minn., and San Francisco, Calif.

On June 25, 1953, she married John Luecht in Yuma, Ariz. The couple moved to Grinnell and later to Malcom, where she was a mother and homemaker. She also worked for the former Henke Seed Corn Company and General Telephone.

She is survived by her husband, John Luecht, Malcom; three daughters, Linda Hamilton of Grinnell, Lois Damron of Aurora, Colo., and Jo Luecht of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Gerrit Luecht of Princeton, Texas, and Bill Luecht of Council Bluffs; four brothers, Jack Korthof of Buffalo, Minn., and Donald, Stanley and Allan Korthof, all of Springbrook, Wis.; two sisters, Nellie Korthof of Spooner and Linda Hodd of Anoka, Minn.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Robert, Jimmy and Gerrit Korthof.
