FUNERAL OF
MRS. MORRISON
HELD THURSDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. William Morrison who passed away quite suddenly Monday evening at six o'clock following a brief illness were held from the home, southeast of town, Thursday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. E.M. Vittum had charge of the service. Two numbers, "We're Going Down The Valley" and "Till We Meet Again" were sung by Mrs. E.S. Parish and Mrs. Sheldon Copeland with Mrs. E.S. Parish at the piano.

The pall bearers were Alex Manson, Charles Fawcett, W.H. Rutherford, Andrew McCormick, William Cleland, and J.S. Copeland. Interment was in Pleasant View cemetery at Ewart.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral were: Mrs. Eliza Newton, a sister-in-law and Mrs. Mary Hendrix, a niece, both of Kansas City, Kan., a cousin, Mrs. Sarah Cooper of Coal Valley, Ill., and a nephew, Willie McKeag, Jr., of Delta, Iowa.

Sarah Ann Morrison, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCracken was born in County Down, Ireland, March 11, 1866 and passed away at her home Tuesday, August 28, 1934 at six o'clock, at the age of 68 years, five months and 17 days. She was taken ill Saturday morning after she had prepared breakfast, looked after the chickens and household duties.

At the age of ten years Mrs. Morrison came to the United States with her parents and settled in Illinois, later moving to Iowa. She was married to William Morrison on February 27, 1895, at Grinnell, Iowa, and they began housekeeping on a farm three quarters of a mile east of Grinnell where they lived five years. At the end of that period they moved to the present home place five miles southeast of town where they lived and toiled together for the remaining years of their married life.

To Mr. and Mrs. Morrison, were born five children: Mabel, now Mrs. Lawrence Phillips of Delta, Iowa; Willie Morrison of Grant Twp.; Harry Morrison of Washington Twp.; Caroline, at home, and Robert of Malcom Twp. All of her children were with her at the time of her death, Mrs. Phillips arriving Sunday evening.

Besides the five children, Mrs. Morrison leaves surviving her, her husband and eleven grandchildren. Also four half brothers, James McKeag of Malcom, Iowa, David McKeag of Marshalltown, William J. and Oliver B. McKeag, both of Delta, and a half sister, Mrs. Margaret Hudnutt of Grinnell.
