HELD AT DEEP RIVERFuneral services for John Cullison were held Monday, Aug. 17, at the Deep River Christian Church with Rev. John Hansel officiating. Mrs. George Dale was the pianist. Interment was in Golden Rod Cemetery, Deep River, with Bert Ross, Oliver Moore, Raymond Johnson, Charles Kiner, Rex Rose, and Wayne Gillaspie serving as casket bearers.
John, son of Jerry and Rachael Cullison, was born in Deep River Jan. 22, 1890, and passed away in the Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Aug. 14, 1964, at 74 years of age.
In his youth, he joined the Deep River Christian Church and served as director of the church orchestra. He attended the Deep River School. John was interested in music and played in the Deep River band and was director for several years.
On Feb. 1, 1919, he married Mary Baylan. John farmed for several years and then became a trucker and livestock buyer. He was a member of the Deep River Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife and daughter, Mary Beth, of Tucson, Ariz., one sister, Mrs. Izola Lamb, of Malcom, Iowa; one brother, Cloyd Cullison, of Paulina, Iowa; other relativves and many friends.
