MRS. W.J. HARRIS DIES
IN LONG BEACH

Mrs. R.M. Haines received a telegram last Saturday announcing the death of her sister-in-law Mrs. William J. Harris at Long Beach, Calif., Saturday morning. Mrs. Harris and her husband were both early residents of Grinnell. Both came here in the '50s and lived here until about 1878 when they moved to Lewis, Iowa. For about ten years their residence has been in Long Beach, Calif.

Mrs. Harris' maiden name was Lucy Patterson. Her parents Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Patterson were from Searsport, Me., a part of the Searsport colony who moved to this county. They located in Washington twp.

Funeral services were held Monday at Long Beach and the burial was in a mausoleum in Sunnyside cemetery.
