--Information was received here of the death at Keokuk yesterday morning of Mr. Eldredge D. Rand, eldest son of Mrs. E.D. Rand, at the age of about 45. He had been ill several weeks and Mrs. Rand and Miss Carrie Rand went from here sometime ago to be with him in his illness. He was a member of the Rand lumber firm and was a good deal in the north, in Minnesota. He was a graduate of Harvard, and a member of the the board of trustees of Iowa College. President Gates went on last evening to attend the funeral of Mr. Rand.
