Lili Ethel, daughter of Charles A. and Eliza H. Drake, was born near Brooklyn, Iowa, on March 29, 1884. Her early life was spent in and near Brooklyn. After her marriage to Homer G. Hall on January 5, 1911, they resided in Huron, South Dakota, for several years, later moving to Sioux Falls. At this place death claimed her on December 29, 1924. Four little girls came to bless this happy home. Catherine and Ruth preceded the mother to the home eternal. Margery and Miriam are left to bless and comfort the grief stricken father and husband.

Mrs. Hall was of a quiet, retiring nature, was gifted with a lovable personality, and was kindly and sympathetic to those around her. She was a true wife and mother. Home was her kingdom, and Love sat on the throne to rule her heart and home.

The body was taken to Brooklyn, Iowa. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. J. Fowler, pastor of Grace M. E. Church, were held at the home of Mrs. Drake, on Thursday afternoon, January first. The Eighth Psalm, which was a favorite with the deceased, was read, after which the pastor used the Shepherd Psalm as the text for his remarks which followed. Mrs. C. B. Reed, with Mrs. Nellie Manatt, accompanist, sang two beautiful solos, “My Father Knows,” and “Twill Not be Long.” The many beautiful flowers, sent by friends in Sioux Falls, bore their mute message of the love for the dead, and tender sympathy for those in sorrow.

Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, beside the body of the little daughter, Ruth.

Besides the husband and daughters, Mrs. Hall leaves her mother, three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Crawford, Florence and May Drake, and one brother, J. A. Drake, all of Brooklyn, Iowa.
