DIES IN TEXAS;
RITES HERE FRIDAYMrs. Zella Harpster Graves, 78, wife of G.B. Graves, died Tuesday evening at an El Paso, Texas hospital after a lingering illness.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hazelwood cemetery with the Rev. Chester Custer, pastor of the Grinnell Methodist church, officiating. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
She was born Aug. 26th, 1886, in Chester township, Poweshiek county, Iowa, the daughter of James and Denie Fuss Harpster. On May 1st, 1912, she was united in marriage with Gilbert B. Graves at Grinnell.
To this union were born two children: John, who died in infancy; and a daughter, Mrs. J.B. (Betty) Walton, now of Teaneck, N.J.
Survivors include her husband and daughter; and two grandchildren, Mrs. Jewel Ann Reason and Gilbert G. Walton. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Esther) Norris of Grinnell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Mamie) Decatur, and Mrs. Mae Clynch; and a brother who died in infancy.
Mrs. Graves received her education in the Grinnell schools and graduated from Grinnell high school. She was a member of the Methodist church and the P.E.O. sisterhood.
