LAST RITES THURSDAY
FOR W.A. DAVIDSON

Funeral services for W.A. Davidson, lifelong resident of Brooklyn, were held Thursday, Nov. 11, at 2;00 p.m. in Grace Methodist church with the Rev. C.W. Woollard officiating. Organist was Leo Shuler.

Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Howard Patten, John Belland, Randolph Roudabush, Clinton Fowler, Donald Brannian and Gordon Osborn. Flower attendants were Mrs. Howard Patten and Mrs. Alice Woods.

William Albert Davidson, son of Albert and Katherine Dunlap Davidson, was born March 25, 1885, near Brooklyn, and died in Mercy hospital at Iowa City, Nov. 8, 1965, at the age of 80. He had been hospitalized for six weeks in Grinnell and Iowa City.

He attended rural school, Brooklyn High School and CCCC Business College in Des Moines. He became a member of the Grace Methodist church at an early age. He was a 50-year member of the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Lodges and a charter member of the Poweshiek County Farm Bureau. Mr. Davidson had farmed near Brooklyn until retiring 12 years ago.

He was married to Nina Johnson Janaury 5, 1909. The couple would have observed their 57th wedding anniversary next January.

He is survived by his widow, Nina, and four children, a son, Horace of Brooklyn, and three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Carmichael of Brooklyn, Mrs. Dan (Miriam) Ihle of Lynn, Mass. and Mrs. Irvin (Margaret) Nathlich of Mt. Vernon, Ill. He also leaves 16 grandchildren, a great-grandson and a brother, Ernest Davidson of Brooklyn.
