OBITUARY

Ludda Vestal Moody was born Jan. 20, 1823 in Yadkin county, North Carolina and died in Mt. Pleasant May 28, 1904 being 81 years, 4 months and 8 days old.

She was one of a family of twelve children but three of whom survive her. One sister of Des Moines who was present at the funeral and two brothers, one in Minnesota and one in Kansas City. This brother would have been on hands at the funeral but for a wreck on the road which made it impossible.

Mrs. Moody was twice married first when a young lady of 26 years, to Wm. Mackey and later in life to William Moody who has also preceded her into the other world.

For many years she has been a devoted christian and an active member of the M.E. Church.

She had selected Isaiah 25:10 for her funeral text and had also requested Mrs. Clay Shell, an old friend, to sing two selections at her funeral. Her requests were complied with and the services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

A large number of friends were in attendance at this service which shows the high regard in which she was held by all who knew her.
